PUBLISHING: AN INTRODUCTION
I.B.Tauris operates a work placement scheme for those considering a career in publishing. No previous experience is required but applicants must be currently undertaking a higher education course within the UK for which a work placement forms part of the course. The experience will provide a solid introduction to the publishing industry that should appeal to prospective employers.
Placements typically last for 3–8 weeks (full-time), based in our central London office. During the placement, the successful applicant will be assigned a mentor from one department, but efforts will also be made to provide experience in a variety of projects across a range of other departments, including Editorial, Production, Sales, Marketing and Publicity.

I.B.Tauris also offers a unique 6 week (full time) work placement in our Publicity Department, also based in our London office. This will be of interest to candidates looking to enter the publishing industry and with a particular interest in publicity and PR. No previous experience is required. We are always on the lookout for: versatile freelance jacket and cover designers with a good sense of the serious trade market; project managers to work on manuscripts from delivery to final pdfs; illustrated book designers.
